The challenge of this piece was that it was confined to 7″ in every dimension. It proved to be a struggle.I found myself, probably by nature, wanting to break out of this confinement. So…. I began to think of it as a tile, and somehow, that made it alright. I tried myriad compositions and parts, in the end the breakthrough came when I brought in the layer of painted wood. Things just “cooked” after that. Enjoy.
