Photography - Flowers

My husband, Allen Einstein and I collaborate on these photographs. They are a composite of myriad images reconfigured and combined to create a new whole. The visual perceptions, which comprise the elements in the photographs, are altered; the function of what is portrayed is changed as well. The images depicted are parts of a new whole. A peony is not just simply a flower but is present for its color, mass and line.  Yes, there is cantaloupe in that wall but it has landed there because of its texture, the nuance in the tone, and what it brings as a whole to the composition. Out of context, it is surreal, serious and whimsical all at once.

Each photograph has a mind of it’s own. Each is driven by those elements which form it’s new whole and belong solely to that composition. The components of these photographs are put into another context, which force the viewer to have a different understanding of the piece and a new experience.
